Every year, students at River City Science Academy look forward to their Annual Canned Food Drive. The school makes sure to encourage participation in many service-learning projects and the students definitely brought their A-game this year.
All-together, RCSA students collected over 6,200 non-perishable food items! Students at RCSA Mandarin collected over 3,600 items to donate to the Mandarin Food Bank. The other 2,600 of the items were donated to Feeding Northeast Florida through a partnership with the Downtown Jacksonville Rotary Club. With RCSA’s contribution to their collection, they were able to donate 4,661 pounds of feed to Feeding Northeast Florida, which translates to 3,884 meals.
This is an incredible impact on our community and a great way for students to understand how they can make a difference.
